Kay Douglass Interiors opened their doors in Atlanta in 1996. After an inspirational trip with a design client to Paris, Douglass soon opened her first retail store in Atlanta, South of Market, a retail and home furnishings showroom, eventually expanding to Charleston and NYC. Kay’s design style leans toward the modern and usually includes an unexpected twist. Her design style is heavily influenced by her love for travel and her love of meeting fellow designers and trade professionals around the countries she so loves to visit: Italy, France and Morocco to name a few.
Her design firm has been fortunate to have many incredibly talented people on her team over the years, her present design assistant, Colleen Letter, is a tremendous asset and lends her talents in a myriad of ways.
Kay Douglass Interiors projects have been featured in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, Veranda, House Beautiful, Traditional Home, Milieu, Architectural Digest and the Russian, French and Brazilian additions of Elle Décor.
Some of her projects include homes on Lake Rabun and Lake Burton, NYC, Charleston, Houston and Rosemary Beach and Park City, UT. Kay is honored to have been asked to serve as an Honorary Chair for the Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles 2026 Home for the Holidays Designer Showhouse.
